Qualifications

Required Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine (or equivalent certification for international graduates) Active New Mexico veterinary license in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date Successful completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience in small animal medicine, surgery, and preventive care Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Commitment to practicing high-quality, evidence-based veterinary medicine Ability to mentor and develop veterinarians and support staff Excellent diagnostic, medical, and surgical skills Passion for team development, hospital growth, and patient care excellence

Preferred Previous experience as a Veterinary Medical Director, Chief of Staff, Lead Veterinarian, or Medical Lead Experience managing medical quality standards and clinical protocols Interest in veterinarian mentorship and leadership development Experience with hospital growth initiatives and operational collaboration Proficiency with advanced diagnostics, digital radiography, dental radiography, and ultrasound Interest in fostering a positive, high-performing hospital culture
