Advanced Gastroenterology Locum Opportunity in Kentucky

This need is open seeking someone to pick up Dec 21 - Dec 28, 2026 - we may have additional dates open up in 2027 but in 2026 we could share once they have active privileges. The dates needed are specific to the teams needed coverage.

Facility - Internal Medicine (Gastroenterology) is in search Part Time Physician (MD/DO)r Locum Tenens due to Team Growth.

We are looking for a provider to work Dec 21 - Dec 28, 2026.

• Required Skills, Experience, Licensure
• MD/DO- either
• BC GI
• Required Certifications: BLS, ATLS, DEA Cert
• KY or Compact Lic in hand preferred- candidates with KY license will be prioritized.
• Must have one of the following;
• American College of Gastroenterology
• The American Gastroenterological Association
• American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
• American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases

Required:

• General GI

• REQUIRED ERCP: Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography, which is a diagnostic procedure designed to examine diseases of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas.

Unit Details:

• Inpatient support
• Patients per day in Unit: 5-10 patients
• Avg patients seen per day: 5-10 patients
• Is there Anesthesia support- yes
• # of surgeries per call shift: 0-5
• Will Locums be sole provider: no- except on on call days they will be
• Is there other support start for Locums: (if so what)- Inpatient APRN
• Round Required: yes
• Will Locums do Admits: yes- 5-10 per day depending on a day

Schedule:

• Start 730 AM- hand off 730 AM
• Provider will need to do rounds either at 730 prior to clinic time and procedures or after clinic hours, and then be on night call.
• Scope schedule for patients is- M-F
• Weekends locum will need to report on site to round on patients.
