Cook – Full or Part Time!
Evergreen Commons Rehabilitation & Nursing Center | East Greenbush, NY

Evergreen Commons Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is looking for a dependable and motivated Cook to join our Food Services team. This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, portion sizes, and dietary requirements

• Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely and appealing manner

• Follow resident-specific diets, food consistencies, and dietary guidelines

• Maintain proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety practices

• Assist with monitoring food and kitchen supplies and notify management when items need to be replenished

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including assisting with cleaning and dishwashing as needed

• Work closely with the Food Services Director and dietary team to ensure resident needs are met

• Provide friendly and respectful service to residents

• Assist with food service for special events and resident activities as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous cooking or food service experience required

• Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience preferred

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food handling practices

• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary requirements

• Dependable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team
