About This Role The Lower School Principal serves as the chief administrator, educational leader, and spiritual shepherd for the students, faculty, and staff in PK–7th Grade at Peachtree Academy Christian School. The Principal provides visionary and strategic leadership for the Lower School and is responsible for ensuring that the school's mission, vision, Christian values, academic standards, and operational expectations are reflected consistently in the day-to-day educational experience of every student. Working collaboratively with the Head of School, Chief Operating Officer, and Faculty members, the Principal implements established policies, procedures, and academic initiatives while providing strong leadership, supervision, and support to faculty and staff. The successful candidate will be a visible, relational, organized, and inspirational leader who understands that excellence in education requires a strong partnership among students, teachers, parents, administrators, and the broader school community. Other titles that may be similar to this role are Instructional Coach, Curriculum Specialist, and Director of Teaching & Learning. What You'll Do General Leadership: Establish and promote high Christian standards and expectations for all students and staff to encourage excellent academic performance and Godly character; Model the highest Christ-like behavior consistent with a professional school environment in all interactions with all school stakeholders; Maintain a highly visible presence with students, staff, and parents of the school; Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the various elements of the school community; Model Christ-likeness by living clearly within the bounds of Biblical authority; Demonstrate servant leadership in dealing with staff, students, and parents; Take an active interest in the lives of those under his/her authority by getting to know them personally, discovering where they are spiritually and professionally, and helping them take the next steps for growth in these areas; Pray for the school community under his/her charge on a regular basis. Instructional Supervision and Staff Development: Supervise the lower school instructional programs; Observe classes on a regular basis to evaluate the instructional methods, strategies, and abilities of the staff while providing constructive feedback as needed to promote teacher excellence and growth; Train, evaluate, and encourage the Lower School faculty, providing suitable opportunities for personal and professional growth; Ensure the implementation of the New Teacher Mentoring Program to help new Lower School faculty assimilate to the culture and expectations of PA; Conduct thorough Lower School teacher evaluation that assesses teaching skills, content knowledge, classroom management, student discipline, and parent communications; Recommend contract renewal or non-renewal of Lower School teachers and staff to the Dean of Academics; Assume primary responsibility to identify, recruit, interview, and recommend Lower School faculty and staff members of excellence for hiring to the Dean of Academics; Ensure that faculty members obtain appropriate continuing education to meet ongoing certification requirements; Evaluate and implement curriculum for 6th – 12th Grades in accordance with academic excellence and a Biblical worldview, including the ongoing evaluation and selection of instructional materials and textbooks; Oversee the implementation and ongoing revision of the PA Curriculum Maps, in collaboration with the Upper School Principal and Dean of Academics; Ensure alignment between Lower and Upper School educational philosophies, curricular goals, and assessments; Implement effective assessment procedures that monitor individual student growth and performance as well as the school-wide attainment of instructional goals; Analyze appropriate assessment data and make instructional decisions in response to data collected; Review and approve all Lower School field trips and curricular events well in advance while ensuring trips are well supervised and provide a safe environment; Develop and recommend to the Dean of Academics any academic standards, policies, and objectives that need to be implemented or revised. Requirements Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as an assistant principal, principal, instructional coach, department chair, or other school leadership position. Experience leading a PK–5th grade program. Experience with Cognia accreditation or another recognized school accreditation process. Experience using student assessment data to improve instruction. Experience with curriculum planning and implementation. Strong understanding of elementary literacy and mathematics instruction. Experience with teacher recruitment and professional development. Experience working in a Christian or faith-based school environment. Nice To Haves Experience with Cognia accreditation or another recognized school accreditation organization. Experience with project-based or inquiry-based learning models. Proficiency in data-driven academic planning. Demonstrated success in improving student achievement and teacher effectiveness. Strong experience with elementary literacy and mathematics instruction. Experience using STAR, standardized assessments, or other student achievement data to guide instructional decisions. Experience implementing curriculum, instructional frameworks, and academic improvement initiatives. Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, mentoring, and retaining high-quality teachers. Strong background in teacher evaluation, instructional coaching, and professional development. Experience developing and maintaining a strong school culture and student behavior program. Experience with parent engagement, conflict resolution, and difficult conversations. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with faculty, families, students, and the community. Experience with school scheduling, master scheduling, enrollment, student placement, and daily school operations. Experience using FACTS/RenWeb or other school information management systems. Strong technology skills and willingness to use technology to improve communication, instruction, and school operations. Experience developing or managing summer programs, enrichment programs, field trips, special events, and extracurricular activities. Experience working in a multi-campus school environment. A demonstrated passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and finding better ways to serve students and families. Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Ability to represent Peachtree Academy professionally at community events, parent meetings, admissions events, and school functions. A genuine passion for Christian education and developing the whole child academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. A servant-leadership mindset and a demonstrated ability to lead with both high expectations and grace.
