Wound Care Nurse - Full-Time Days

Position Summary The Lead Wound Care Nurse provides expert clinical support, supervises the wound care team, and educates staff on managing wounds, pressure ulcers, ostomies, fistulas, and incontinence. They develop and maintain practice standards, ensure policy adherence, and lead initiatives to prevent hospital-acquired pressure injuries. They deliver direct patient care for evaluation and education, coordinate wound care programs, and develop evidence-based protocols. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, program development, documentation oversight, and participation in Quality Improvement projects. The position requires leadership in staff management, developing treatment plans, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications And Skills Bachelor of Science in Nursing or completion within 2 years if hired without one Minimum two years of wound care experience and one year of acute care nursing Certification as Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) within 2 years Current RN license in California and BLS certification Key Duties Manage and lead wound care staff and activities Develop cost-effective wound/ostomy care programs and standards Monitor patient outcomes and develop treatment plans Educate staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Advise physicians and coordinate patient follow-up and referrals Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance Lead hospital-wide initiatives, participate in quality improvement, and maintain professional development Serve as a resource and support for nursing staff and wound care team #J-18808-Ljbffr Alpha Home Health and Hospice
