Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed telemetry and surgical floor
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, responding appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float to other units as needed based on facility staffing needs
• Complete required NIH and stroke education as part of acute care compliance

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license – Virginia license required to be in hand at time of submittal, or proof of a valid compact license
• BLS certification required – must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS certification required – must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• PALS certification required – must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Specialty experience within the last year required
• SSN required at time of submittal
• One supervisory reference required at time of submittal
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience on a telemetry or medical-surgical unit in an acute care setting
• Familiarity with NIH stroke scale assessment and stroke education protocols
• Experience working in a travel or multi-facility healthcare environment
