Adjunct Faculty Position

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. This is an "open until filled" pool. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. This position requires proficiency with cardiac anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, strong technical skills in both diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to stay focused and respond quickly to emergencies in a dynamic environment. The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member.

Position Salary Information: Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupational experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract.

• CVT 106 CV Physiology & Pharmacology II
• CVT 107 Introduction to Invasive Cardiology
• CVT 108 Introduction to Clinical Practicum & Hospital Observation
• CVT 110 Interventional Procedures I Invasive Cardiology
• CVT 112 Clinical Practicum II
• CVT 114 Interventional Procedures II Invasive Cardiology
• CVT 116 RCIS Exam Prep Course
• CVT 118 Clinical Practicum III

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire.
2. A current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification.
3. A current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
4. • Transcripts must clearly identify the degree(s) being used to meet the Minimum Qualifications.
• If more than one degree is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications (e.g., a bachelor's and a master's), transcripts for each degree must be included.

• If the degree is in progress the application must state, the month and year the degree is expected to be attained.
