Job Title

Martins Construction, a Posillico Company, is seeking a skilled laborer for heavy highway and bridge construction projects.

Job Description

Responsible for providing manual labor support to projects as assigned. This may include cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, and using various equipment and tools to perform construction operations. While our main office is in Falls Church, VA, trade employees are expected to report directly to different project sites throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

Roles and Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of field supervisors staff, perform various tasks in the maintenance and repair of roads and highways, etc. Arrive at the project site on time and participate in daily safety meetings. It is mandatory to wear safety toe boots, four-inch sleeves on shirts, jeans or heavy pants, and any additional PPE (hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). Clean and prepare job sites. Clean up work-sites from debris and machinery and remove waste materials. Handle and transport materials, i.e., wood, concrete, steel, etc. Handle power tools and materials, i.e., such as saws and drills. Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions. Strict adherence to safe working practices. Responsible for the health and safety of others. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with coworkers and customers.

Qualifications

Follow oral and written directions and plans. Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, walk, and work at heights for extended periods. Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, methods, and techniques. Lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects while carrying tools and equipment. Must be able to work on weekends and at night when needed, sometimes with limited notice. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Valid driver's license. A pre-employment drug screen is required. All employees are subject to randoms and reasonable suspicion drug testing.

Reports to: Superintendents while taking daily direction from field supervisors staff.

Location: Falls Church, Virginia

Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour commensurate with skills and experience
