Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently, supporting our operations across multiple locations. This position offers a dynamic work environment where your mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities can shine! Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems. Conduct inspections and troubleshoot issues on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure equipment functionality. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose mechanical problems and execute repairs. Perform routine preventive maintenance including tire service, shocks & struts replacement, alignment checks, and HVAC system servicing. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members about equipment status. Assist with equipment assembly or modifications to optimize operational performance. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive diagnostics. Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer standards. Strong mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar machinery, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle maintenance. Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, soldering equipment, and welding techniques. Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems. Experience with diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and HVAC systems. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients when necessary.
