About the Position

Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 (7am to 7pm) Experience: Up to one year of level I trauma experience required License: Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for MRI Certification. Certifications: AHA BLS required, MRI Certification must be achieved within 12 months of hire date. Must-Have: - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty or a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty. - Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. - Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. - Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions consistently. - Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs. - Ability to perform operator-level quality control checks and cleaning per manufacturer instructions. - Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. - Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology. Description: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The role aims to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and available resources, the MRI Technologist provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions in various care settings. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures and correlating clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. The technologist conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality is consistent with established protocols and accreditation standards. The role involves transferring images and data to the appropriate archival systems and preparing studies for reporting by physicians. The MRI Technologist participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote improvements in care and treatments.
