Recovery Van Driver

Schedule Varies based on business needs; normally Monday through Saturday with Sunday and one other day off during the week. Pay $24.88 per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis. Load and unload the vehicle for multi‑stop deliveries. Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles. Use a hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location, including going up and down stairs as necessary. Accurately record delivery information, including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation. Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition of any returned product. Communicate delivery/customer issues to the proper authority (Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.). Deliver product to each designated stop following the stop sequence provided for the day. Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by the customer. Check invoice for complete delivery; process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any. Collect payments if necessary. Monitor the refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle consistently for safety; follow all safe food‑handling procedures. Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield washer and replenishing fuel. Other duties as assigned. Supervision None. Relationships Internal: Transportation associates, Maintenance associates, and other internal contacts. External: Customers. Qualifications Education / Training: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Related Experience / Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older. Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required. No more than two convictions in the past two‑year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years. Must be able to pass DOT physical. No commercial or professional driving experience required. One year of multi‑stop delivery experience preferred or six months of local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience and hand cart delivery experience preferred. Able to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations. Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Must pass pre‑employment background check. Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities. Use safe lifting and loading techniques. Great interpersonal/customer service skills. Availability to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime to serve customers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Building customer loyalty. Managing work. Adaptability. Building trust. Follow‑up. Communication. Demonstrate defensive driving techniques. Physical Requirements: The work requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs consistently, 100 lbs occasionally, and repetitive motions. The work is performed primarily outdoors. Must be able to pass DOT physical and work in extreme weather conditions. Compensation The expected base rate for this role is between $22 and $27, depending on relevant experience, education, and geographic location.
