About the Position

Job Title: RN - L&D Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current acute care hospital L&D RN experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM - C or AWHONN Preferred Description: This is a travel position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery. The unit has 14 LDRPs and 2 ORs. There are 60 staff members on the unit. During day shift, the unit consists of 1 charge RN, 2-3 L&D RNs, and 2-3 postpartum RNs. During night shift, there is 1 charge RN, 2-3 L&D RNs, and 2-3 postpartum RNs. Patient ratios are 1:1 to 1:2 maximum for L&D and 3:1 for postpartum per AWHONN guidelines. The unit utilizes Beacon EMR and Meditech/CPN for documentation. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital L&D RN experience. BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM - C or AWHONN certifications are required. Prior Meditech experience and postpartum experience are highly preferred. Typical procedures performed by the unit include versions, C-sections, vaginal assisted deliveries, and D&Cs. The ideal candidate is adaptable, flexible, and consistent.
