Position Type: Support Staff/ Mental Health/Behavior Assistant Date Posted: 11/12/2025 Location: Achievement Centers for Children Job Title : Board Certified Behavior Analyst (School) Department : Education Reports to : Director of Education Classification : Exempt SUMMARY Responsible for assessing, creating, coordinating, and implementing behavior analysis services and behavior intervention plans for students with autism at the Achievement Centers for Children’s Autism School. Provide support and professional learning opportunities to school staff, and parents/guardians. ONGOING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Have working knowledge of Ohio Department of Education (ODE) licensing regulations, ODE Academic Content Standards grades K-12+. Promote a positive image by representing the Autism School and the Achievement Centers for Children in a courteous, professional manner. Adhere to all policies and procedures in the Achievement Centers for Children Staff Handbook and Autism School Operating Manual. Promote a team approach throughout the agency. Work in family-centered partnership with the individuals and families served by the Achievement Centers for Children. Practice safe work habits and contribute to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. Maintain the Autism School classrooms, playground and office areas to allow for safe, efficient and organized delivery of services to families; maintain all equipment in safe working order, notifying supervisor of repairs/replacements as needed; practice appropriate safety techniques related to Infection Control and Universal Precautions including hand washing, toy disinfecting and laundry. Attend continuing education courses and keep abreast of new techniques and trends in the field of Education/Special Education/Autism through conferences and professional memberships. Foster and maintain good public relations with all community sources. Conduct oneself with professional dignity; understand the importance of good human relations; be able to motivate others; possess initiative and good judgment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain professional ethical standards and comply with ACC policies and procedures. Provide and help develop behavioral services for Positive Behavior Supports (PBIS). Develop professional development opportunities, materials, and provide resources for administrators, educators, paraprofessionals, and other support staff of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavioral challenges in accordance with federal/state/IDEA laws and regulations. Observe and gather data for administration of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP); effectively develop plans as directed by data and assessments. Create and assist staff with the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIP’s), ABA techniques, and other appropriate programs for students with behavior/learning challenges. Provide direct intervention services to students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff who work with these students; may be directed by a Behavior Intervention Plan or Individualized Education Plan. Manage assaultive behaviors by using best practices and as a last resort, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); serve as trainer for CPI. Effectively provide clinical supervision of Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBT) as directed by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Attend weekly team meetings, all IEP meetings and ETR conferences for students. Attend professional growth opportunities at the discretion of the director of Education. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as a role model for educators and students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and responsible, intelligent human beings. Assist with successful student transitions for students who transition to or from an alternative placement. Collaborate with public and private agencies to offer recommendations and consultation that fosters appropriate social skills and prevents behaviors for the purpose of effective learning in the educational environment. Perform such other duties as the governing board may assign/determine. Remain free of any alcohol or controlled or non-controlled substance use in the workplace throughout employment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Appropriate Ohio Educational License through the Ohio Department of Education. Appropriate Board Certified Behavioral Analyst License. Shall meet requirements for employment governed by federal and state laws i.e., BCI&I and FBI check. Expectations include ability to read, analyze, interpret assessments and reports, write compliance reports, and professional correspondence, effectively present information and respond to administration, students, families and the general public. Maintain valid Ohio driver’s license. Personal Skills and Abilities Ability to instruct and support staff on evidence-based practices that support students with autism. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of children and families. May require offsite travel. If job responsibilities require driving a personal or agency vehicle, must maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance as required by state law, and an acceptable driving record. WORK CALENDAR Length of work day: 8 Hours Work days: 206 No earned vacation time – School schedule has natural vacation periods.
