Pharmacist - La Vergne, Tennessee

Pharmacist opportunity supporting a mail order renal specialty pharmacy with a high prescription volume in La Vergne, TN. This role offers a focused 13-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire, working Monday through Friday from 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. The pharmacy fills approximately 1,000 prescriptions daily, providing specialized care primarily in renal medications.


Responsibilities include performing critical Pharmacist Verification 1 (PV1) and Pharmacist Verification 2 (PV2) duties. This involves final verification of prescriptions, ensuring the correct medication is dispensed, checking labels against prescription directions, and confirming accuracy of prescription information against hard copies. The position utilizes the Wellsky pharmacy order entry system, with no automation or on-call requirements.


Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with relevant state board
• Experience with prescription verification and dispensing accuracy
• Familiarity with specialty pharmacy practices and mail order operations preferred
• Proficient with pharmacy order entry systems, preferably Wellsky
• Detail-oriented with strong commitment to patient safety
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with pharmacy team
