Assistant Cook

Las Brisas is seeking a full-time Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team. We are a long-standing, family-owned restaurant known for authentic Mexican food, consistency, and heartfelt service. If you have experience, a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow, we'd love to welcome you into our kitchen family. Must be available to work Tuesday to Sunday 3pm to close. Starting pay $18-19 with the opportunity for an increase in pay after 90-day evaluation if all requirements are met.

About the Role

As a full-time Assistant Cook, you will support our Chef/Founder in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen organization, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who wants stability, long-term growth, and hands-on experience in a traditional Mexican kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to recipes and Chef instructions.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations, refrigerators, and storerooms.
• Assist with timely preparation of customer orders.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Support daily kitchen operations and help wherever needed.
• Work collaboratively with the Chef.

Requirements

• Bilingual (Spanish/English or Spanish-speaking) to communicate with Chef/Founder.
• Honest, responsible, dependable, and punctual.
• Valid Food Handler Certification.
• Knowledge of Mexican food; culinary skills a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
• Strong communication skills.
