Certified Surg Tech - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to expertly assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and supporting the surgical team. This opportunity is based in Santa Cruz, CA at a hospital and involves working in an OR environment with a variety of general and specialized cases.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• BLS Certification.
• 2 years' experience as a certified OR tech / Surgical Technologist in a surgical environment.
• Experience with Cerner and Surginet charting systems.
• Familiarity with OR equipment including Phillips telemetry and Draeger ventilators preferred.
• Ability to work in an OR that handles general surgery and specialty rooms including at least one cardiovascular-capable room. ACLS certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an OR with 10-hour shifts and rotating weekend coverage.
• Previous exposure to endoscopy and interventional radiology cases.
• Prior experience working with anesthesia and operating room coordination roles.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 1400-2300 (Evenings).
• Orientation: 12 hours; floor-specific orientation approximately 1 week.
• Charting system: Cerner / Surginet.
• Weekend and holiday rotation and on-call responsibilities as scheduled by unit staff.
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignment.
