Senior Building Maintenance WorkerInstitution - South Dakota MinesWorking Title - Senior Building Maintenance WorkerPosting Number - CSA02808PDepartment - SDSMT-Facilities ManagementPhysical Location of Position (City) - Rapid CityPOSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for paint and wall repair in remodeling and renovation projects including painting walls, ceilings, metal doors and frames. General maintenance duties include basic plumbing work on drains, faucets, etc. installing light bulbs and shelves; moving furniture, hanging pictures; repairing and replacing stair tread, handrails, doors, hardware and ceiling tiles; completing roof inspections and making minor repairs and maintenance; repairing damaged floor coverings (carpet, VCT, wood, ceramic tile and cove base), removing old floor coverings, preparing surface and installing new floor coverings; snow removal; preventative maintenance tasks; assisting in grounds, custodial, and shop departments; and other duties as assigned.Knowledge of: methods and practices of general building or facility maintenance; building construction; tools and equipment associated with the project.
