Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to neonates in a hospital nursery setting, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of newborn patients. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment supporting fragile infants and their families.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care to neonates according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Monitor and assess vital signs and clinical status, identifying any changes requiring intervention.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient information accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record system.
• Assist with procedures such as Apgar scoring, Ballard assessments, and the administration of medications.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control policies and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license in the state of employment.
• Certification in NRP and BLS is required; STABLE certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of NICU or newborn nursery experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in neonatal assessment and clinical procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with a positive attitude.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
