Clinical Laboratory Scientist I

Abbott seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to perform moderate and highly complex laboratory testing on clinical specimens in a diagnostics setting. The role involves specimen processing, quality control documentation, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting under laboratory medical director oversight, working Friday–Monday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests according to standard operating procedures
• Perform, review, and document quality control procedures and maintain equipment troubleshooting
• Prepare reagents and manage specimen processing while maintaining inventory for daily operations
• Identify and resolve problems affecting test performance and participate in new procedure validation
• Mentor new laboratory personnel and communicate quality or safety issues to management

Requirements

• Associate degree in laboratory science, biological science, or medical laboratory technology from accredited institution
• Minimum 24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology or equivalent science coursework with chemistry and biology
• Authorization to work in United States without sponsorship
• Demonstrated ability to perform laboratory procedures and technical analysis
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment operation and maintenance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
