Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Burn ICU position at a Magnet, Level I trauma teaching hospital, requiring adult ICU experience, telemetry proficiency, and COVID vaccination.

Details

• 18-bed Burn and Pediatric Trauma ICU unit within a 500-bed Magnet, Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12s, 19:00–07:30
• Patient ratios of 1:1–3
• Every other weekend required, with some flexibility expected
• Floating to other ICUs within scope may be required to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact license equivalent; pending license may be considered
• Current certifications required: ACLS and VLS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with adult population experience mandatory
• Adult ICU experience is required — candidates with PICU experience only will not be considered
• Telemetry experience required, including proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• A dysrhythmia interpretation test will be administered
• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
• At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital placement preferred

Additional Information

• Travelers will be assigned patients appropriate to their skill level; the facility has sufficient staff to manage pediatric and burn patients
• Scrubs may be any solid color; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
• RTO is limited to no more than 6 days for the contract; no RTO will be approved during orientation week or holidays
• Prior UW Health system staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• Onsite parking is available for a daily fee; an offsite parking option is also available at $10/day with a 10-minute shuttle service (weekdays, 5am–10pm only)
