Communications Coordinator

PART TIME: 12 hrs./ week, Monday - Thursday The Communication Coordinator facilitates effective and consistent church communications among church staff, lay leadership, church volunteers, and church members in general, ensuring that church-wide communications are accurate and constructive.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Coordinate information in weekly E-mail news (Buzz), worship bulletin, and church sign. Coordinate with Chimes editorial team to ensure that the Chimes Quarterly newsletter is created and delivered on schedule. Build and manage the Church Directory Coordinate communication with committee chairs, volunteers, staff, and church members. Church website: Assists Office Administrator with creating an inviting and attractive website which includes content that agrees with all social media, and other church publicity, platforms. Coordinate preparation of special service materials (memorials, extra services, etc.) Assists with extra office administrative tasks (ie:new positions postings, interview scheduling, etc.) Assist with preparation for seasonal “all church” mailings. Become proficient in the Planning Center database, training congregation members as needed. Ensure our church social media and video posts are current. Create content as necessary. Assists Care Team with mailings and other communication needs Facility Rental: Assist Office Administrator with facility use and rental requests as needed Assist Office Administrator with maintaining the monthly AUMC calendar. Prayer Wall: Ensures that prayer wall posting happens smoothly and requests are appropriately screened. Notify pastors of relevant / urgent prayer chain information. Sunday Worship : Coordinate preparation of worship materials (bulletins, scriptures, slides, etc.) Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor

QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with church operations. Strong grammatical skills, proofreading and editing, and copywriting Ability to use Microsoft Word and ability to learn how to use other office software. Familiarity with ProPresenter preferred. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people and maintain positive relations within the work and Church environment. Strong social media experience and knowledge. Graphic design and videography experience recommended. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Anaheim United Methodist Church
