Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care in a high-acuity environment, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary efforts to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the Emergency Room setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assess the immediate and ongoing needs of emergency patients to develop and modify care plans.
• Deliver direct patient care, including managing ventilator/tracheostomy and gastrostomy tubes, medication titration, and responding to urgent medical situations.
• Oversee and supervise care provided by licensed practical nurses, nursing attendants, technicians, and support staff.
• Communicate patient responses to treatment and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to adjust plans accordingly.
• Ensure all nursing interventions align with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff orientation, and ongoing educational activities to enhance patient care quality.

Qualifications:

• Hold a BSN degree from an accredited program.
• Possess 2-3 years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
• Be competent in vent/tracheostomy and gastrostomy management, medication titration.
• Maintain active licensure as a registered nurse and certifications in TNCC, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and AHA Stroke.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure emergency situations.
