The ideal candidate has significant experience and knowledge of Protection & Control (P&C) design concepts, relay setting calculations, setting file development, relay manufacturer software platforms, and power system analysis & modeling software. Key Responsibilities Function as a technical subject matter expert and specialist. Develop protective setpoints per industry standards, best practices and client requirements. Work with system modeling software programs (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM). Develop downloadable setpoint files on multiple proprietary relay manufacturer software platforms (SEL AcSELerator Quickset, GE Enervista, etc.). Develop and manipulate logic commonly utilized in protection and control schemes. Provide technical guidance and direction on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. Deliver guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines. Apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks and ensure compliance. Support continuous improvement and change management efforts. Prepare complex engineering deliverables, perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and materials selection. Manage assigned budget, schedule and quality requirements. Review lower‑level engineering work. Coordinate with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects. Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on low to moderately complex projects; communicate these to project team members. Support business development or pursuit activities and offer other services to clients. Design a complete project of moderately complex scope or support multiple projects on complex technical challenges. Foster knowledge management, mentor and develop lower‑level professionals. Assist with performance management processes, mentoring, recognition, and any required corrective actions. Participate in career planning, learning and development. Provide administrative responsibilities such as ensuring policies, procedures and processes are implemented, approving timesheets and expense reports, and ensuring adherence to corporate programs. Preferred Qualifications 5‑10 years of experience in Transmission, Distribution, or Power Generation industry. Previous working experience with Protection & Control design concepts including one‑lines, three‑lines, schematics, wiring. 5 years of experience in development of protective relay settings. Experience with system modeling software programs (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM). Knowledge and application of predominant protection schemes and philosophies encountered in Transmission, Distribution, and Renewable Collector Substations. Experience with Mathcad and Excel for protective setting calculations. Experience with communication protocols (DNP, SEL, MMS, Modbus). Knowledge of IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SV) and its implementation. Knowledge of NERC‑PRC standards and other industry standards. Proven ability to independently develop written communication and facilitate coordination with team members and clients. Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Proven ability to lead small projects including management of project schedules, budgets and staffing. Experience supporting proposal development – scope of work, level of work, engineering estimates, schedule. Strong leadership skills, desire to train and develop early‑career or inexperienced professionals. Experience functioning in a QC/QA capacity. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of Residence or Project Needs. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized accredited program in the home country or country of practice. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. Applicants must satisfy pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search). Certifications Professional Engineer License (U.S. PE) – preferred.
