Essential Duties Maintain knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies, and regulatory issues (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Regulation E). Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities. Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships. Serve as customers' single point of contact for all First United Bank products and services. Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals; actively participate in all sales campaigns; promote new products and services; educate customers and peers. Participate in all meetings, bank functions, and customer appreciation/community events as assigned. Consistently meet customer service expectations by offering excellent service, greeting customers, using their name, and building rapport to generate loyalty. Identify and match customer product needs by interviewing customers, discussing their financial needs, and making referrals to other staff if necessary. Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and all ancillary products; provide account opening information and ensure proper paperwork is completed and entered into the system. Assist customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, privacy). Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors per established policies (e.g., accepting checks, money orders, travelers' checks, cashier's checks, loan payments). Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications, and complete vault duties. Verify all transactions, place holds, and prove the cash drawer at shift end to ensure compliance; seek assistance as needed for discrepancies. Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues. Review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports; assist customers with account charge‑off repayment plans. Perform security functions: open/close bank and vault, and ensure overall safety and security of bank grounds. Master the primary purpose and essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position. Employee Specifications High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college strongly preferred. One year of retail experience preferred. Cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service skills required. Basic mathematics to solve problems. Requires being exact or highly accurate with daily work. Ability to effectively read, write, and verbally communicate with customers and co‑workers. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently, with minimal supervision. Ability to use good judgment and exercise decision‑making skills. Critical thinking: uses logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to multi‑task. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance. Behave ethically at work or outside work environment. Active listening: fully attend to customers, understand points being made, and ask appropriate questions.
