Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks related to blood collection, specimen preparation, and patient interaction while adhering to safety and quality protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary draws on patients of all ages, following established safety and quality protocols.
• Label, centrifuge, aliquot, and prepare specimens for transport according to regulatory standards.
• Greet patients, verify their identity, explain procedures, and ensure a calm, professional experience.
• Accurately enter patient and test information into the laboratory information system.
• Follow OSHA, CLIA, and company guidelines for infection control, PPE use, and biohazard handling.
• Maintain adequate supplies and ensure equipment is clean, functional, and properly stored.
• Collaborate closely with site supervisors, couriers, and laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen flow.

Essential Skills

• Phlebotomy skills, including venipuncture and capillary blood draws.
• Proficiency in blood collection and specimen preparation.
• Phlebotomy certification (CPT).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a patient service center, hospital, or clinical lab setting.
• Open to those who have completed their externship and don't yet have additional experience

Work Environment

The work environment is a fast-paced clinical setting, including patient service centers, doctor’s offices, and hospitals. The role involves frequent interaction with patients, staff, and couriers. There is exposure to biohazard materials, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

This is a Contract position based out of Encinitas, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Encinitas,CA.
