Benefits Accounting Manager, UHR Posting No.: S15171P • Title: Benefits Accounting Manager • Department: UHR – Benefits Accounting • Employment Type: Full‑time, on‑site • Location: Athens, Georgia • Salary: $85,000+ (commensurate with experience) • Closing date: Monday, June 29, 2026 Position Summary The Benefits Accounting Manager oversees the Benefits Accounting department and reports to the UHR Chief Business Officer. Responsibilities include timely review and approval of account reconciliations, settlement of transactions related to benefit programs, customer service triage, preparation of complex statements and journals, and collaborating with the Chief Business Officer on process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Reconciliation & Settlement – oversee comprehensive reconciliation processes across multiple benefit and financial programs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of discrepancies. Customer Service Triage & Solutions – prioritize, assess, and route incoming inquiries, manage internal and external inquiries related to benefits and financial transactions, and ensure clear communication and high‑quality service. Leadership and Supervision – provide direct supervision of assigned staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and daily operations; foster team development and accountability. Process Improvement – identify inefficiencies, develop and implement workflow and automation solutions, standardize procedures, and partner with the Chief Business Officer on strategic initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 8 years of professional experience. Preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and fiscal compliance. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proven ability to lead and develop professional staff and work collaboratively across diverse teams. Familiarity with higher‑education financial systems and fund accounting.
