Senior Accountant
Location: Lake Mary, FL (Hybrid, in office 3 days/week)
What Our Client is Looking For:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to take ownership of complex general ledger activities and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting for designated business units. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong accounting foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by analyzing account data.
Reconcile monthly bank accounts and balance sheets across assigned business units.
Analyze revenue, commissions, and expenses to ensure accurate monthly reporting.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and trial balances.
Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and variance analysis.
Assist with internal and external financial reporting, including audit schedules and ad hoc requests.
Coordinate complex accounting projects with internal departments.
Develop and document internal processes and accounting policies to support compliance and strengthen internal controls.
Post payments, process refunds, and reconcile customer and carrier accounts.
Communicate with internal teams and external carriers to resolve discrepancies and manage collections.
Oversee direct bill commission posting and resolve balancing issues.
Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

What Success Looks Like in This Role:

5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred.
Prior experience in the insurance or agency industry is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; advanced knowledge of accounting software.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Able to manage competing priorities with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
Collaborative team player who also thrives working independently.
