Louisiana Licensed Inpatient Coder

To support a leading healthcare system, the full-time Remote Inpatient Coder will abstract and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to patient claims while ensuring coding quality and integrity through documentation review and collaboration with healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities Ensure accurate assignment of principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures based on inpatient documentation review Generate physician queries to clarify ambiguous or conflicting documentation in accordance with coding ethics Collaborate with the Corporate Director of Documentation and Reimbursement and other healthcare staff to align coding services with organizational goals Required qualifications Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CPC from AHIMA is required Minimum of 2 years of inpatient coding experience in LTAC or Acute Care settings Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and APC coding principles Familiarity with 3M Coding Software is desired Proficient in computer use, including basic understanding of MS Office #J-18808-Ljbffr Virtual Vocations Inc
