Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Charge Experience License: Valid RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to pass EKG testing before the start date Must be able to float as required 2 weekends per month or every other weekend is required Description: This position requires a registered nurse to work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will care for patients with conditions such as STEMI, cardiogenic shock, and cardiac arrest. Patients may be in need of interventions like Impella or CRRT. The nurse should have experience in managing dysrhythmias and caring for ventilated patients. The care environment supports interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, physical therapy, and more. Nurses must be prepared to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Daily patient ratios are 1:1 in CVICU and 1:2-3 in general ICU settings. Candidates must possess skills in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, as well as managing central lines and arterial lines. The ability to perform ARDS management and interpret arterial blood gases is essential. The unit cares for a daily census of approximately 10 CVICU patients and 20 MICU patients. This role will require adherence to compliance documents, including proof of residency. Travel experience is required for this specialty. Major holiday requests for time off will not be accommodated.
