We are a Birmingham area skilled nursing facility that is looking for an experienced, dynamic individual to oversee the admissions department and lead admissions to the next level as we expand our capacity to 143 dually certified beds. The individual we are seeking should be enthusiastic, energetic, compassionate, and operate with a high level of integrity
The Director of Admissions is responsible for the daily operations of the Admissions Department, being a liaison to the clinical team and referral sources, and conducting marketing efforts on behalf of the organization. The person in this position needs to understand the importance of ‘first impressions’ and strives for the best when welcoming clients, family members and guests to the facility. The Director of Admissions also performs and/or oversees the processes of initial assessments, benefit
verification, and daily updating of patient census
Some of the specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
Supervise and participate in daily operation of admissions department
Follow the Admission Process to obtain authorization from third part payers
Complete electronic admission paperwork in Point Click Care
Demonstrate understanding of referral sources and provide linkage between referral sources and clinical team
Develop and utilize referral database
Comprehensive knowledge of admissions process and managed care company relationships
Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) committee and active involvement in PI initiatives
Develop/revise tools for use in PI
Review clinical assessments performed by other staff
Interact with diverse client population
Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and clients
Position Requirements:
· Experience as a Marketer in a Nursing Home
· Network with local hospitals & physicians’ offices
· Must possess a thorough knowledge of principles of effective communication, mass media, advertising, policies, education, community relations, demonstration, organization structure, social and activity services, government relations, etc., as they relate to nursing facility operations.
· Must possess the ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideals and concepts to community groups/agencies.
· Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
