This role involves direct patient care in a mixed critical care unit with a patient mix that includes neuro, spine, cardiac, medical, and surgical patients.Responsibilities\n \n Provide nursing care for critically ill patients with a registered nurse ratio of 2:1 for critical patients, flexing to 3:1 as needed.\n Utilize advanced skills including managing balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), Impella devices, and caring for patients post-open heart surgery.\n Draw own labs and perform vascular access procedures without the support of a vascular access team.\n Respond independently to calls for consultations and conduct codes as necessary, maintaining composure and effectiveness in emergency situations.\n Qualifications\n \n Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Critical Care setting.\n Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or Compact RN license.\n Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required.\n Experience with neurological and cardiac patients is preferred.\n Work Schedule\n This position requires a commitment to 12-hour night shifts, working three shifts per week, with every other weekend included.
