Overview Project Manager – Commercial Construction (Healthcare) Location: San Jose, California Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in healthcare construction to lead complex commercial projects in the San Jose, CA market. This role will oversee projects within active healthcare environments, requiring a high level of coordination, regulatory knowledge, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate brings experience managing healthcare builds such as hospitals, medical office buildings (MOBs), surgical centers, and OSHPD/HCAI-regulated projects, with the ability to deliver work safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of commercial healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including OSHPD/HCAI requirements and infection control standards (ICRA) Manage project financials including cost tracking, forecasting, and change management Review drawings, specifications, and contracts for scope and constructability Lead procurement and subcontractor buyout processes Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety Coordinate work in active/occupied healthcare environments, minimizing disruption to operations Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders Drive project closeout, commissioning, and turnover Qualifications 5–10+ years of experience in commercial construction project management Proven experience delivering healthcare construction projects (hospital, MOB, or life sciences preferred) Strong knowledge of OSHPD/HCAI regulations and healthcare construction standards Experience working in active/occupied environments Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera) Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Education Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred Equivalent field experience will be considered Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary (DOE) Performance-based bonus Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision) 401(k) with company match Vehicle allowance or company vehicle Paid time off and holidays Why Join Strong backlog of healthcare projects in the Bay Area Opportunity to work on impactful, mission-critical facilities Collaborative team environment with career growth opportunities Exposure to technically complex and highly regulated construction projects #J-18808-Ljbffr Diamond Peak Recruiting
