Job Description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Powder Coater for a leading manufacturing company in Fort Worth, TX. The Powder Coater is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal parts using powder coating equipment while ensuring compliance with quality standards, production schedules, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality finishes on a variety of metal components.


SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation of $18.00 per hour as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).

• 1st Shift
• 2nd Shift
• 3rd Shift

Powder Coater Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting surfaces.
• Apply powder coating using electrostatic spray equipment while maintaining proper coating thickness and finish quality.
• Load and unload parts from the powder coating line, racks, or curing ovens.
• Monitor oven temperatures and curing times to ensure coatings meet specifications.
• Inspect finished parts for defects such as runs, uneven coverage, contamination, or color inconsistencies.
• Perform touch-ups and rework as needed to meet quality standards.
• Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and customer specifications.
• Maintain powder coating equipment and perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance.
• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
• Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
• Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or material shortages to supervisors.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to meet daily production goals and customer deadlines.

Powder Coater Requirements and Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of powder coating or industrial painting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience operating electrostatic powder coating equipment is preferred.
• Ability to follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify coating defects.
• Ability to use measuring tools and inspect finished products for quality.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production equipment safely.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Must be dependable and committed to maintaining attendance standards.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in powder coating, industrial painting, or metal finishing.
• Knowledge of powder coating processes, curing techniques, and surface preparation.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and manufacturing standards.
