Bookkeeper / Financial Administrator

Job Description

Fieldhouse Bar & Grill is seeking an experienced, highly organized Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in Iowa City. This is a unique opportunity to manage financial operations across a diverse portfolio of local businesses under common ownership.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at multi-entity accounting, and possesses strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records across all operating entities.
Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), including vendor payments, tenant ledger adjustments, and invoice tracking.
Perform daily cash reconciliation and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Process payroll and manage related filings/deductions for property and hospitality staff.
Track rental income, security deposits, and tenant accounts for residential and commercial assets.
Prepare monthly profit & loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for management review.
Collaborate with external CPAs for year-end tax planning and filing.
Maintain organized digital and paper filing systems for audit readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 3+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience required. Multi-entity bookkeeping experience strongly preferred.
Software Proficiency: Strong skills in QuickBooks (Desktop/Online) and Microsoft Excel. Experience with real estate/property management software (e.g., AppFolio, Buildium, Yardi) or hospitality POS systems is a major plus.
Education: Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (equivalent work experience accepted).
Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities, high attention to detail, and absolute confidentiality.
Location: Must be based in or able to commute reliably to Coralville/Iowa City, IA.
