Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients in labor and delivery settings, supporting mothers through childbirth and postpartum recovery. Ensure patients' safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the labor process.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs to assess labor progress.
• Administer medications, including analgesics and sedatives, as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and other clinical procedures as needed.
• Educate patients and their families on childbirth processes, postpartum care, and breastfeeding.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid New York State RN License with primary source verification from NYS Department of Education.
• Possess a minimum of two years of Maternal and Child health experience.
• Have at least two years of IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation experience.
• Maintain current certifications in AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills in labor and delivery nursing with excellent patient communication.
