Head Girls Wrestling Coach

Position Description Jacobs High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Head Girls Wrestling Coach with strong knowledge of IHSA Wrestling and a focus on student‑athletic achievement. The coach must be able to train athletes at all levels of the program, be organized and flexible, take direction from the direct supervisor, and work effectively with parents and the Booster Club. Performance Responsibilities / Requirements / Qualifications Previous high school and/or collegiate wrestling coaching experience is required. Must be able to manage all levels of the program, oversee various areas within the program, remain organized and flexible, take direction from their direct supervisor, and communicate effectively with parents and the Booster Club. Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills required to compete at a high level. Lead an athletic program for sustained participation and success. Support student‑athletes in strength and speed training, fundraising, equipment organization, and other tasks as directed to maximize student achievement and ensure accurate records are maintained. Work with the Athletic Department to assure all games, officials, and transportation are scheduled. Maintain accurate records of equipment for the entire program. Organize and oversee all program levels and areas of responsibility. Communicate with the Athletic Director to secure facilities and ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students. Set the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning to maximize the student‑athlete experience. Communicate and plan with the assistant coach practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical well‑being of the student participants. Coordinate with the Athletic Director all in‑season practices. Ensure that all student participants at his/her program level are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements, including current athletic physicals, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and academic eligibility prior to practice, tryout, and competition. Model and instill the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants, and enforce consequences for breach of such standards. Attend all student‑athlete practices and games, and monitor proper supervision at all practices, games, and on school‑provided transportation. Maintain and provide the athletic director with end‑of‑season individual and team records and statistics. Participate in a mandatory preseason parent meeting and head coaching minutes. Plan for the seasonal student‑athlete recognition. Distribute and collect uniforms and equipment.
