DOELOCATION: Portland, ORSCHEDULE: Full-time; Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pmWHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLEMake a Strategic Impact: Shape financial strategy and influence key business decisions that drive sustainable growth.Lead and Empower: Develop a collaborative accounting team built on accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.Drive Efficiency and Innovation: Improve financial systems, streamline processes, and build scalable accounting practices.Partner Across the Business: Turn financial insights into actionable strategies that strengthen performance and operational success.WHAT YOU’LL DOOversee Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting: Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and accurate financial reporting.Lead Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models; monitor cash flow and financial performance; analyze trends, risks, and opportunities; and report key financial and operational KPIs.Maintain Financial Controls and Compliance: Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures; ensure compliance with applicable financial and tax regulations; and coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and financial advisors.Drive Business Partnership and Process Improvement: Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic decisions, evaluate pricing and operational efficiency, oversee financial responsibilities for 8th Avenue LLC, and improve accounting systems and workflows.Lead and Develop the Accounting Team: Provide leadership, coaching, accountability, and ongoing feedback; establish documented procedures and cross-training; promote collaboration and continuous improvement; and model company values and integrity.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOREducation and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of an accounting function or team.Technical Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, month-end and year-end close, and internal controls; proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and advanced Excel.Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop employees, collaborate across departments, and communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with exceptional attention to detail, sound business judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in hospitality, catering, events, food service, or other complex service businesses preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis role requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, review detailed financial information, and frequently communicate with team members and business partners.
