Shuka, led by Chef/Partner Ayesha Nurdjaja, is looking for a passionate host to join our hospitality team!

Located in the heart of SoHo, Shuka has become a cornerstone of the neighborhood — a welcoming spot where the energy of the block meets the vibrant flavors of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. Every dish bursts with layered, nuanced flavors, crafted with responsibly sourced ingredients from local farms and the greenmarket. We proudly serve lunch, dinner, and brunch. Celebrated for its bold, abundant style of dining, Shuka set the stage as the inspiration for its sister restaurant, Shukette.

Chef Ayesha brings her dynamic perspective and love of shareable dishes, shaped by her extensive travels and culinary roots. At Shuka, meals are designed to feel generous, flavorful, and deeply connected to the markets and farms that sustain us. The hospitality team plays a vital role in bringing this vision to the guest — ensuring service that is warm, attentive, and as memorable as the food itself.

Main Responsibilities

● Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant
● Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table
● Giving guests accurate wait time estimates
● Responsible for knowing restaurant and company information, including, but not limited to, hours of operations, directions, awareness of neighborhood, and sister properties.
● Be aware of regular guests/VIPs
● Organized and efficient
● Excellent communicator with the bar, service, kitchen and management staff.
● Understand all of the restaurants main dining room seating and configurations
● Understanding that we require a positive and professional attitude in the workplace

This position requires daytime hours, evening hours and weekends with FULL and PART TIME AVAILABILITY.
