Job Title
Job Overview: Pay Range: $16.85hr - $21.85hr
Requirement/Must Have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one to two years of clinical laboratory experience required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills required.
- Knowledge of referral testing and specimen processing required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems required.
Responsibilities:
- Retrieve, sort, and process specimens for shipment to referral laboratories.
- Ensure specimen quality and accuracy by identifying issues such as incorrect specimen types, missing information, improper temperature, or insufficient quantity.
- Prepare specimens and packages for shipment according to IATA regulations.
- File departmental documents and maintain accurate records.
- Handle customer inquiries related to laboratory results, service failures, and quality issues.
- Report laboratory results using established protocols.
- Contact clients to resolve routine or medical/technical issues related to patient testing and result reporting.
- Perform investigations and provide resolutions for complex referral testing issues.
- Research test availability and select appropriate referral vendors following established procedures.
- Support Client Services, Customers, and Sales teams by responding to inquiries promptly.
- Communicate tests not performed (TNPs) and laboratory accidents to clients within required timelines.
- Identify and escalate reportable quality incidents to supervisors.
- Maintain a safe, functional, and sanitary work environment.
- Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Use personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures as directed by management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Should Have:
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Medical background preferred.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Independent problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to establish work priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Ability to handle confidential patient and client information required.
- Good data entry skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Laboratory Information Systems required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment required.
Qualification and Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Work Environment:
- Required to handle biological samples and potentially hazardous chemicals.
- Frequent standing and walking required.
- Ability to lift and carry objects as required by the role.
