Referral Representative I - 3rd shift

Job Overview: Pay Range: $16.85hr - $21.85hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one to two years of clinical laboratory experience required.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Knowledge of referral testing and specimen processing required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems required.

Responsibilities:

• Retrieve, sort, and process specimens for shipment to referral laboratories.
• Ensure specimen quality and accuracy by identifying issues such as incorrect specimen types, missing information, improper temperature, or insufficient quantity.
• Prepare specimens and packages for shipment according to IATA regulations.
• File departmental documents and maintain accurate records.
• Handle customer inquiries related to laboratory results, service failures, and quality issues.
• Report laboratory results using established protocols.
• Contact clients to resolve routine or medical/technical issues related to patient testing and result reporting.
• Perform investigations and provide resolutions for complex referral testing issues.
• Research test availability and select appropriate referral vendors following established procedures.
• Support Client Services, Customers, and Sales teams by responding to inquiries promptly.
• Communicate tests not performed (TNPs) and laboratory accidents to clients within required timelines.
• Identify and escalate reportable quality incidents to supervisors.
• Maintain a safe, functional, and sanitary work environment.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements.
• Use personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures as directed by management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Should Have:

Qualification and Education:

• Ability to lift and carry objects as required by the role.
