Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Duration: Full-time Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Recent emergency nurse experience, recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon Certifications: - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support card or obtain within 6 months of hire (preferred) - American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course card or obtain within 1 year of hire (preferred) - Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) card for initial certification or obtain within 1 year of hire (preferred) - National certification in emergency nursing (CEN or equivalent) preferred Must-Have: - Ability to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in English - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Flexibility to prioritize and adapt to rapidly-changing patient and unit needs - Effective teaching skills - Response capability to patient crisis/emergency situations - Proficiency in use of computer, including accessing internet, word processing, and documenting in an electronic medical record system - Consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location Description: Within the RN scope of practice, applies the nursing process to the care of patients. Teaches patients and significant others about their care. Documents patient care in the medical record. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall care of the patient. Promotes a healthy work environment through participation in employee engagement activities. Accesses health and wellness resources to provide care for employees and their families.
