Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Cardiology

Position Summary We are seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic and expanding Cardiology team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a comprehensive, patient‑centered cardiovascular program that continues to grow in size and scope. Schedule This hire will provide day‑shift coverage on the inpatient team at Wentworth‑Douglass Hospital. The primary need is for Saturday coverage, with occasional open 8‑hour shifts during the week. Key Responsibilities – Essential Functions Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings. Performs complete histories and physical examinations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops appropriate plans of care and follow‑up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. Consistently provides high‑quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries. Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population. Qualifications Education Master’s Degree Nursing required. Licenses and Credentials Registered Nurse (RN) – State License. Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – State License. Experience 0‑1 year experience as a nurse practitioner preferred. Previous Cardiology experience required.
