This role combines office and warehouse responsibilities to support accurate and efficient shipping and receiving operations. You will coordinate inbound and outbound loads with truck drivers, handle data entry and reporting, and provide customer service while working both indoors and outdoors on the warehouse floor. The position requires regular use of Microsoft Office applications, attention to detail when handling inventory and pallets, and a strong safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound loads with truck drivers, ensuring accurate scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Perform shipping and receiving duties, including sorting, loading, and unloading freight and materials.
• Handle inventory and shipments in coordination with the office, receiving, and shipping departments to maintain accurate records.
• Use Microsoft Excel, Outlook, email, and other computer applications to complete data entry, reporting, and ticket submission.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to truck drivers and other visitors for inbound and outbound freight.
• Inspect pallets to determine which need repair or reorganization and ensure they are correctly placed in the yard and warehouse.
• Inspect pallets and products for damage, document any issues, and follow established procedures to report discrepancies.
• Perform material handling tasks, including moving, sorting, and organizing inventory in the warehouse and yard.
• Utilize ERP systems and warehouse inventory tools to track shipments, inventory levels, and inventory control activities.
• Use ten-key typing and typing skills to enter data accurately and efficiently into systems and reports.
• Support warehouse customer service activities by responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to inbound shipments and outbound freight.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE and steel-toed boots while working on the warehouse floor and in the yard.
• Maintain neat and legible handwritten documentation when required for tickets, logs, or inspection records.
• Collaborate with team members and remain coachable, receptive to feedback, and willing to learn new systems and processes.

Essential Skills

• Experience in shipping and receiving, including inbound and outbound load coordination with truck drivers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and email for reporting, data entry, and communication.
• Ability to perform accurate data entry using ten-key typing and general typing skills.
• Legible handwriting for completing tickets, logs, and other written documentation.
• Customer service skills for interacting with truck drivers and handling warehouse customer service needs.
• Experience with inventory, inventory control, and warehouse inventory processes.
• Ability to work with ERP systems and related tools for shipping, receiving, and inventory tracking.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting pallets, identifying misplacements, and documenting damage.
• Safety-first attitude and consistent adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Willingness to learn, be coachable, and adapt to new processes and systems.
• Stable work history demonstrating good tenure and reliability.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Capability to perform general labor and yard labor tasks as part of daily responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual English–Spanish communication skills preferred for supporting diverse drivers and team members.
• Experience using ERP platforms such as Infor or Lawson for shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Experienced shipping clerk, warehouse clerk, or similar warehouse operations role.
• Familiarity with warehouse customer service and handling inbound shipments and outbound freight.
• Comfort working with both office-based tasks and hands-on warehouse and yard activities.

Work Environment

This role operates in a mixed office and warehouse setting in Davenport, FL, with work performed both indoors and outdoors in a non-climate-controlled environment. You will spend time on the warehouse floor and in the yard handling pallets, inventory, and freight, as well as in the office using computers and ERP systems. The position requires wearing appropriate PPE, including steel-toed boots, and following all safety protocols. Work hours are Monday through Friday with shift flexibility required, typically either 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, involving regular interaction with truck drivers and coordination across shipping, receiving, and office teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, FL.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Davenport,FL.
