Our client is seeking a  detail-oriented Part-Time Full Charge Bookkeeper to take ownership of their day-to-day accounting and monthly close processes. This is a hands-on role ideal for a seasoned bookkeeping professional who thrives in a  GL-heavy environment and is comfortable working independently while partnering with an external CPA.

This position  does not include payroll processing —allowing you to focus on core accounting operations and financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close

• Maintain the general ledger in  QuickBooks Enterprise , including recording and reviewing all journal entries
• Ensure accurate coding to accounts, classes, and locations
• Lead  month-end close , including reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts:
• • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Prepaids & Accruals
  • Fixed Assets
  • Loans and other liabilities
• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries as needed

Reconciliations

• Perform monthly  bank and credit card reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner

Financial Reporting

• Produce accurate  financial statements from QuickBooks Enterprise:
• • Profit & Loss (P&L)
  • Balance Sheet
  • Basic Cash Flow
• Deliver reporting packages for internal management and external CPA

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Enter vendor bills and manage approval workflows
• Schedule and process payments
• Maintain vendor records and documentation

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Generate invoices and apply incoming payments
• Issue credits or write-offs (as approved)
• Monitor and manage AR aging

Cash & Other Transactions

• Record  non-payroll disbursements and receipts , including:
• • Loan activity
  • Owner contributions and draws
  • Credit card activity
  • Refunds

Fixed Assets & CPA Support

• Track fixed assets and coordinate depreciation schedules with CPA
• Prepare year-end schedules and documentation, including:
• • Trial balance
  • Account reconciliations
  • Fixed asset listings

Reporting, Analysis & Systems

• Run and customize  QuickBooks Enterprise reports :
• • P&L by class/job
  • AR/AP aging
  • Budget vs. actual
• Export data to Excel for additional analysis and reconciliation support
• Monitor  cash flow across:
• • AP obligations
  • AR collections
  • Debt service
  • Recurring expenses

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or GL accounting experience
• Proven experience with:
• • Hands-on  month-end close
  • Financial statement preparation
• Advanced proficiency in  QuickBooks (Enterprise strongly preferred)
• Strong  Excel skills for reconciliations and analysis
• Solid understanding of:
• • Debits & credits
  • Accrual accounting
  • Basic GAAP principles
• Comfortable acting as the  primary owner of the books while collaborating with a CPA
• Experience with AP/AR, inventory, or job costing is a plus
