Job Summary

Must be able to perform journey-level commercial locksmith work: use features of applicable access control systems; read and work from plans, drawings, and blueprints as appropriate to trade; maintain computerized inventory and master locking system records; perform heavy physical labor; follow and give oral and written direction. Maintain cooperative working relationships. Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population. Must be able to complete general maintenance duties.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement :

High school level of knowledge.

Minimum Experience Requirement :

Minimum of two years experience in maintenance type repairs, some plumbing and electrical experience preferred. Prior hospital maintenance experience desirable. Ability to operate a variety of plant equipment, hand and power tools. Knowledge of various mechanical equipment operation and repair. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Minimum License Requirement :

Possession of a valid New York State Driver’s license desirable.

Physical Requirement/Working Conditions :

Risks include potential exposure to hazardous weather conditions, electrical and mechanical equipment, chemicals and hazardous waste. Light to moderate lifting; must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull. External applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
