Required / Non-Negotiables:

• Minimum 6 years of tower construction/maintenance experience, preferably telecommunications
• Must be climbing certified / N.A.T.E. Tower Climber Exam or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be able to climb 250+ feet daily in most weather conditions
• Must be willing to travel up to 75%
• Strong quality workmanship and safety focus are a must
• Must be able to lead small crews of Tower Technicians
• Experience installing antennas, mounting hardware, coax lines, connectors and accessories
• Experience with RF connections, cables, grounding, testing and antenna positioning/optimization
• Experience installing RF system radios and controllers
• Experience installing small to mid-sized self-supporting communication towers
• Proficient reading SOWs, site plans and tower drawings
• Experience installing, connecting and testing underground and above-ground grounding systems
• Experience with cable types, connectors, antennas, basic tower rigging and weatherproofing
• Familiarity with Andrews, Eupen and RFS connectors
• Basic understanding of tower safety and PPE
• Knowledge of standard knots
• Able to work overtime, weekends and evenings when needed
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• High school diploma required
• Must pass drug test
• References required

Strongly Desired:

• Microwave experience
• COM train certificate
• Anritsu experience/certification
• OSHA certification
• Cad-weld or thermo-weld training
• Knowledge of cable sweep testing systems and sweep gear
• General construction, electrical, technical or mechanical experience

Additional Recruiting Notes:

• Travel is a major piece of the role and should be discussed upfront with every candidate.
• Candidates need to be comfortable being away from home for roughly 7–15 days at a time.
• Climbing certification, clean driving record, quality workmanship and safety are especially important screening points.
• There is limited local work, so candidates looking for primarily San Antonio-based work will likely not be a fit.
