Customer Service Representative I

Job TitleEssential Duties and Responsibilities1. Inform customers of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.2. Make changes to or cancel orders/backorders as necessary.3. Provide timely and accurate information to incoming customer order status and product knowledge requests.4. Call customers when necessary to advise shipments delay and/or information necessary to process orders.5. Talk with customers concerning orders, returns, shipments and products.6. Follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates. Confers with production, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments. Initiate tracers with carriers as required.7. Makes sure that quotes are processed through the quoting process in a timely manner.8. Responsible for sending new pricing, with the correct multiplier, to all customers.9. Work closely with the Credit Department to resolve disputed credit items.10. Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.Education and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.TravelJob may require light travel to visit sites and a flexible schedule. Less than 25%Computer SkillsDemonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and AccessOther RequirementsAbility to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations such as in relating customers questions to catalog item variables, and pricing structures Time Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
