IV Certified Pharmacy Technician - Nicholasville, KY

A leading closed-door long-term care facility in Nicholasville, KY, is seeking a Day Shift Lead IV Pharmacy Technician to join their team on a direct hire basis. This role centers on leadership within the compounding IV pharmacy, ensuring the preparation of sterile intravenous medications while upholding strict USP 797 compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee operations in the IV compounding room
• Prepare intravenous (IV) medications using aseptic techniques to ensure sterility
• Manage inventory and maintain adequate stock levels
• Ensure adherence to USP 797 standards and other applicable regulations
• Cross-train in the narcotics department to support pharmacy workflow
• Utilize Frameworks software system (training available) to document and manage prescriptions
• Handle a high volume of approximately 600 prescriptions per day

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active, clear Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license
• Minimum of 2 years recent, hands-on IV compounding experience (lead technician experience is not mandatory)
• Familiarity with clean room compounding procedures
• PTCB certification is highly preferred but not required
• Strong work ethic with reliability and consistent attendance, as punctuality is critical
• Ability to work Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with rotating weekends

Location: Nicholasville, Kentucky (close proximity to Lexington)
