Oncology Nurse Clinician

The Oncology Nurse Clinician is a professional registered nurse with oncology-specific clinical knowledge. This role involves providing safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. The nurse clinician facilitates and oversees care delivery for patients under the direction of the oncology department manager. Collaboration with physicians is essential in navigating patients through the care continuum. Responsibilities include evaluating the patient at each clinic visit and managing symptoms related to cancer and treatment. Education of the patient about their disease is a key component of this role. The nurse will assist with procedures in the clinic. Working with other disciplines, such as surgical oncology and radiation oncology, is required to ensure timely diagnostic evaluation and treatment. Duties also include a rotation between phone symptom management and clinic patient support. This position requires participation on an alternating schedule with other nurses in the clinic. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, with scheduled hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There are no on-call requirements, and the clinic is closed on recognized holidays.
