Only individuals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship will be considered.Job Type: Contract (this role is a 6-month assignment)Job Salary: $35-$37/hour (DOE)Job Schedule: M-F, 40 hrs/weekJob Location: Houston, TX 77002About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Web Application Developer to support the enhancement, maintenance, and ongoing development of a large-scale, enterprise web application used by multiple public-sector agencies. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative Agile team environment focused on critical, data-driven systems. Must pass a background check, drug screening, and reference check as part of onboarding.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport a mission-critical web application used across multiple agenciesPerform analysis, development, testing, and debugging for enhancements and bug fixesCollaborate with developers, stakeholders, and business users to gather and validate requirementsWork through backlog items, user stories, and application improvementsTroubleshoot and resolve application issues in a production environmentAssist with application maintenance and support activitiesParticipate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)Support system documentation, testing processes, and issue resolution trackingProvide occasional end-user support and interactionAssist with reporting and batch process support as neededRequirementsRequired Qualifications:3+ years of experience in web application development or supportExperience with application maintenance, enhancements, and bug fixingStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutionsExperience working in Agile or Scrum environmentsStrong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teamsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience supporting enterprise-level or multi-user systemsExposure to public sector, government, or justice-related systemsFamiliarity with SQL/databases and reporting toolsExperience with backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)Background in production support environments with direct user interaction
