Body Shop TechnicianThe primary focus of the Body Shop Technician is to repair damaged body parts and truck bodies according to work orders provided using hand and power tools. The Body Tech will follow directions provided by the Cosmetic Bay Lead and/or SupervisorKey Responsibilities / Essential Job FunctionsRepair trucks cosmetically to OTS standards while following the work order written by the Service WriterFollow OTS work instructions during reconditioning process and complete task in OTS SRT'sBuffing, Polishing, Bondo, Sanding, etc.Re-assemble truck in a timely mannerKeep work area and shop tools cleanClock in and out of ERP system and be on the correct VIN and segmentWear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)Follow all company policies and proceduresNotify Cosmetic Supervisor of any safety issues in departmentDaily use of PC and business computer applicationsPerforms other job-related duties assignedRequired Education, Skills & AbilitiesHigh School Diploma or equivalentTwo+ years of previous experience in a body shopExperience using a wide variety of tools and equipment to assess and repair trucksCritical thinkerIndependent self-starter with time management skillsMust be comfortable in a shop environmentMust provide own tools & toolboxPhysical Demands Include:Must be able to lift and carry 50+ poundsConstant hand, fingers, and arm useMust be able to climb up and down a ladderAbility to continuously stand or walkAbility to manipulate small hand toolsAbility to bend, squat, and lift frequentlyMust be able to push and pull objects weighing 50+ poundsAbility to use hand and power tools above shoulders
